Outlook Verifying Email Settings |

Verifying your Outlook settings is the first step to fixing email problems as most problems are caused by incorrect details being used.
Firstly you will need to login into 'MyAccount' and then 'My Settings' to retrieve the POP/SMTP settings for your account. Open Outlook Click on the Tools menu Click on Email Accounts Select View or Change existing accounts Highlight your default email account, for example pop.quik.co.uk Click on Properties. Your Name field, enter your name as you would like it to appear on outgoing messages E-mail Address field, enter your email address here User Name field, enter your username here Password field, enter your password here Incoming Mail (POP3) field, enter POP server address. Details can be obtained from the 'MyAccount' system Outgoing Mail (SMTP) field, enter SMTP server address. Details can be obtained from the 'MyAccount' system Click More Settings
General tab Organization field, if you are part of an organization enter it here Reply E-mail field, if you would like replys to your outgoing messages going to a different email address than the above enter it here
Outgoing Server tab My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, should be ticked Use same settings as my incoming mail server, should be ticked Advanced tab Incoming server (POP3), should be 110 This server requires a secure connection (SSL) , should be ticked Outgoing Server (SMTP), should be 25 This server requires a secure connection (SSL) , should be ticked Use same settings as my incoming mail server, should be ticked
Server Timeouts, default is 1 minute, extend time to resolve mail timeout issues Delivery - leave a copy of messages on server, default should be unticked
To save any changes click OK.
